Biomedical Science
Camp
June 21-26
Grades 9-12
Here at Superior Edventures we like to make sure that when our campers leave they don’t just leave with awesome memories made, but with new knowledge as well. Our Biomedical Science campers get a chance to work in Lake State’s state of the art science labs. For an entire week they are able to immerse themselves in opportunities to learn. By designing a camp around Biomedical Science we allow kids who have an interest in science, medicine, and health to get a look at what the field entails. Possibly a peak into what their futures may be as college students. With five days featuring ten different lab activities our campers get a crash course in some of the major elements of Biomedical Science. We seek to teach our campers the main principles of how the human body works and allow them to do their own biomedical research. From DNA extraction to blood typing our campers do it all with the assistance of professors andLake State
students. They are able to participate in dissections and learn anatomy first
hand. Also, our campers learn about the different fields pertaining to
biomedical science and the education and training needed to work in those
professions. We hope that by attending the camp and experiencing the hands on
learning that we offer it will spark a passion that will guide our campers
towards their futures. Perhaps by attending our Biomedical Science camp they
will discover where they want to go with their futures and become heroes in biomedical
fields.
